What is Sabbath School?

Children's Sabbath School is a highly organized and structured weekly Bible lesson program that involves active learning and service for children of different ages. It is the only ministry that reaches all Adventist children and provides an excellent opportunity to study the Bible with them and help them relate these truths to everyday life.

Children's Sabbath School is divided into five age groups:

  • Beginners (ages 0-2)
  • Kindergarten (ages 3-5)
  • Primary (ages 6-9)
  • Junior (ages 10-12)
  • Earliteen (ages 13-14)

Each group has its own curriculum designed to meet their developmental needs and learning styles. The curriculum is called GraceLink, and it covers four main themes: grace, worship, community, and service.

  • Children's Sabbath School usually lasts for one hour on Sabbath morning before or after the main worship service. It consists of four parts: welcome time, worship time, lesson study time, and application time.

  • During welcome time, children are greeted by their teachers and participate in some icebreaker activities.

  • During worship time, children sing songs, pray, give offerings, listen to mission stories, and recite memory verses.

  • During lesson study time, children explore a Bible story through various methods such as storytelling, drama, art, games, puzzles, etc.

  • During application time, children discuss how to apply the lesson to their daily lives and plan for service projects.

Children's Sabbath School aims to help children grow in their relationship with Jesus and become faithful disciples who share His love with others. It also helps children develop a sense of belonging to the church family and a habit of regular Bible study.
